Hike with the YellowstonePark.com team to Shoshone Lake above Lander, Wyo.,in the Shoshone National Forest. The lake is a huge, beautiful lake that's full of fish and flanked by beautiful views of
the southern Wind River Range. This hike isn't for the light-hearted. In fact, most who use this trail are on an ATV. Our route started via Fairfield Hill, then to Pete's Lake, Twin Lakes and
Shoshone Basin, before arriving to Shoshone Lake, at the end of a 4,000-foot gain over 12 miles. After walking along the lake, ascend Cyclone Pass, a lung-buster, before arriving at the most
spectacular view in the area, where you can see the entire southern Wind River Range before you with Shoshone Lake in the foreground. Next, descend the "Chute" (for too many miles), to Suicide Point,
then let the lead out in Mexican Creek and Baldwin Creek. All told, 24 miles of hiking. Ambitious but also a great adventure! File Download (60 min / 53.03 MB)

Hikers enjoy a 6-mile flat hike to Big Sandy Lake before ascending the steep, rocky, exposed Jackass Pass to the Cirque of the Towers. The Cirque was first made famous among climbers across the world
when an article was published in a 1950 magazine. This hike is an 18-mile round trip and the views are among the best in the Lower 48. Along this hike, YellowstonePark.com talks to visiting hikers
